Dolomites UNESCO
Dolomites UNESCO is a new word-combination, used to portray the beauty of the Dolomites.
In the summer of 2009, indeed, nine Dolomite groups were included in the list of Unesco World Heritage sites. This acknowledgment is representative of the astonishing natural and scenic value of these sites, considered by many the most beautiful mountains in the world!
In addition to the countless natural wonders in the Dolomites, credit must also be given to the people of this region, who up to today, strive to keep places, traditions and cultures alive.

Among the protected Dolomite groups there are the Northern Dolomites, situated between South Tyrol and Veneto, which include the “candid” Dolomites of Sesto and the “austere” Dolomites of d'Ampezzo. Also, the Nature Park “Fanes-Senes-Braies” belongs to the Northern Dolomites.
The territory of “Fanes-Senes-Braies” is almost entirely within the area limits of Marebbe, with San Vigilio as its center.
The Hotel Aqua Bad Cortina in San Vigilio is located at the entrance to the park, just 2 km airline distance from the natural heritage Dolomites UNESCO. In fact, you may reach “Fanes Braies Senes” in just half an hour, walking along the Rio San Vigilio, which passes next to the hotel and originates in the heart of in park.
